Currently I am in the land of can'ts...
- I can't get Karlie Kloss out of my mind as she glides down the runway wrapped in Lanvin goodness
and
- I also can't seem to find any reasonably priced alternative to said look.
Its not that I haven't seen a maxi skirt that I liked but I haven't been able to find one in a bright color or one with the kind of movement that Karlie Kloss's had. So what does that mean everyone................DIY
I made this skirt the same weekend I made my clutch. I've been looking for the right material that would also have movement and when i saw this color I just wanted it on me. Luckily I bought a lot of the fabric since my first go at the skirt wasn't perfect and to hide some of the imperfections I made the belt. Round two is coming up this weekend and I will definitely be keeping a few things in mind
-Invisible thread is your friend since white thread on a magenta skirt just doesn't work out. I have no clue why I didn't just buy the damn magenta thread when my mom suggested it but before I sat down in front of the sewing machine I thought it would be a breeze and my imaginary sewing skills would create such a clean finished product you would notice what color thread I used. HA...that was a mistake.
-Slow and steady will always, absolutely, every time, win the race.
-Keep my cat Salem away from the fabric since he was under the impression that the piece hanging over the table was actually a toy and it was perfectly okay to attack it.
Oh and by the way if you like the necklace its up for grabs on my Etsy store!!!

You are quite productive with craft work! I can't believe you made that maxi dress ... so talented. Do you possibly familiar with coat alterations? Random yes, I know. I'm taking it to a tailor and was wondering if you can give me some advice on it. =0D
