Serafina's Separates - Current Obsession 012

As if the Elizabeth and James Spring 2013 collection wasn't enough to spark interest interest in easy, silk separates, designer Serafina Sama just had to go and add to the pot.  The Isa Arfen Spring 2013 collection is full of refined and interchangeable separates that have classic undertones but wears with a modern attitude thanks to the high-low blouses, fun embellished tops, unique layering and sleek silhouette.

And just who is this new designer churning out such amazing pieces.  After working at some of the best labels including Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Marni, the London based designer and Central Saint Martins Alum created the label in 2011 for real women that was more tailored to their real lives than idea of dressing up.

Instead of using more saturated shades like the Olsen's, Serafina opted for neutral colors with a splash of emerald and blush.

Although each piece could work with my closet, my favorite pieces from the collection are the high-waisted cropped pants (obviously) and the embellished crop top (as usual).  I could wear these right now to a number of functions.....just like the Opening Ceremony Buyer Kate Foley who was spotted in Serafina's lovely pants at the American Ballet Theatre's annual gala last month.

Leopard and Wood - What I Wore

Sweater - H&M, Button Down - H&M, Patchwork Jeans - Denim & Supply, Scarf - Forever 21, Shoes - H&M, Necklace - Naughty Baubles

Clearly my leopard button down and a scarf have become my extremely essential fashion staples.  Plus I can't stop wearing my latest necklace.  Its acrylic and wood chain mixed together making one long necklace and it literally goes with anything. I listed another one on my Etsy shop if you're intersted.

I was fortunate to have a day off today (although I do have to work Saturday) and spent most of the day listing new items on Naughty Baubles and the other remaining hours remerchandising my closet.  I will be buying new a whole new wardrobe system soon and in the mean time decided to get organized so I know exactly what I will need. After about three hours of a complete disaster and a half an hour of clean up I've come to realize I really don't have any clothes.  Your probably thinking "Yeah me too" while snickering in your head except for the two closets of stuff I wear but I really don't have much at all.  Considering where I started about four years ago I appear to purge consistently without replacing. For now its a good thing because I managed to make what was a whole Pax wardrobe system(the big double door wardrobe with narrow side unit), a smaller Ikea wardrobe and a five foot closet not counting the jewelry and shoe spillover into the bedroom fit into just the smaller wardrobe and the closet.  Granted I have four or five pairs of shoes sitting on top of the wardrobe unit but everything else fit. I am utterly amazed.

Anywho hope your week is going well and here's to the soon arriving weekend!!

Is It February Yet - What I Wore

My Fall wardrobe essentials of late...

  • Long & Chunky Scarf
  • Leather
  • Leopard
  • Leggings
  • Motorcycle Boot

Despite popping Airborne on a regular basis and drowning my organs with water, the minute I forget that everyone at work is throwing around their germs like a game of catch and leave my meds at my parents I wake up stuffy and foggy.  Now I'm trying to nurse myself back since I cannot afford to show to work on any level less than completely prepared. Its crunch time now as we put the final touches on the holiday set ups, organizing stock rooms for quick and easy fill ins for sales associates and making note of what we are still missing.  Stepping in for my manager has already proven to be quite challenging from dealing with a dwindling staff (if you don't want to work please don't waste my time....seriously there are people who actually need jobs and want them), to brand reps (I'm sorry you are paid to believe that your brand is the best and I don't doubt that the revamp will be successful but right now in my store it's just not the focus and the numbers reflect it so no you can't get the number one location during the holiday season.....) to still trying to actually accomplish something by the day's end.  Although now February can't arrive fast enough I know this is the kind of experience I need to not only move forward but to be able to successfully run my own store one day which is the ultimate goal so I guess I shouldn't complain too much....LOL

On a much happier note I finally wore my leather vest.  This leather vest was one of the first purchases I made over 4 years ago when I started my job and it was one of those amazing deals you just have to celebrate.  It was originally $200 or a bit more and I grabbed it for $50.  Its real leather, has a moveable trim thanks to the wire built in so you can mold it into a peplum if you'd like and it has a removable hood.  I did wear it once or twice that first year but haven't put it on since...until recently. I wore it out to my first appointment in the search for my wedding dress and the funny thing is my friend ended up wearing it more than I did.  She didn't want to take it off and it seems to be a reoccuring trend with her and my mom trying to steal some of things....I am on constant watch as they are both pretty crafty.

In all the wedding excitement and constant inspiration hunting that also seems to consume so much of time, I have decided to start a new blog (YAYYY!!!!

Its called The Awkward Bride (check it out HERE) and it is basically my wedding diary to rant and gush on my different experiences.  I would love it if you guys checked it out but don't worry I won't forget about Naughty Baubles.

Jenny Claire Temperley - What I Wore

Button Down - H&M, Shorts - Bar III, Clutch - R & Em, Socks - HUE, Boots - H&M, Necklace - Naughty Baubles, Bracelets - Vintage & Naughty Baubles

Although I am pretty sure the sunny days are not gone, the days of bare legs are definitely behind us.  I am yelling at my car in the morning to just warm up already so I can put on the heat on and being the stubborn individual that I am I've refused to wear a jacket which means briskly walking to my car screaming obscenities in my head.  Normally I find myself in a slight fashion depression at the first sign of fall but this time around I can honestly say there is a bit of excitement.  However I will challenge myself to make sure I don't neglect these shorts.  Yeah, they're pretty simple but they are perfect for just about any top imaginable from floral blouse to a chunky knit.  I snagged them from work for only $19 before my weekend getaway and have opted to wear them during every single warm sunny day since.

Anywho, hope your week started out well and your weekend was fantastic.  See ya next post...

P.S. I don't know what's come over me but I've been Pinning up a storm which has kinda taken away precious blogging time (well really just time in general)...If you want to know what's catching my eye check me out there

P.S.S. If you are wondering about the title it's just my extreme excitement to try on some wedding dresses this weekend.  Made an appointment at a local bridal salon that just happens to carry Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone and Temperley wedding dresses....literally my top 3 designers right now for unique, lust worthy frocks.
