Leopard and Wood - What I Wore
![]() |
| Sweater - H&M, Button Down - H&M, Patchwork Jeans - Denim & Supply, Scarf - Forever 21, Shoes - H&M, Necklace - Naughty Baubles |
Clearly my leopard button down and a scarf have become my extremely essential fashion staples. Plus I can't stop wearing my latest necklace. Its acrylic and wood chain mixed together making one long necklace and it literally goes with anything. I listed another one on my Etsy shop if you're intersted.
I was fortunate to have a day off today (although I do have to work Saturday) and spent most of the day listing new items on Naughty Baubles and the other remaining hours remerchandising my closet. I will be buying new a whole new wardrobe system soon and in the mean time decided to get organized so I know exactly what I will need. After about three hours of a complete disaster and a half an hour of clean up I've come to realize I really don't have any clothes. Your probably thinking "Yeah me too" while snickering in your head except for the two closets of stuff I wear but I really don't have much at all. Considering where I started about four years ago I appear to purge consistently without replacing. For now its a good thing because I managed to make what was a whole Pax wardrobe system(the big double door wardrobe with narrow side unit), a smaller Ikea wardrobe and a five foot closet not counting the jewelry and shoe spillover into the bedroom fit into just the smaller wardrobe and the closet. Granted I have four or five pairs of shoes sitting on top of the wardrobe unit but everything else fit. I am utterly amazed.
Anywho hope your week is going well and here's to the soon arriving weekend!!

Hump Day - What I Wore
All I can say is it snowed today and I left my Hunter boots at my parents which meant wearing my ballet flats through slushy wet mess, they didn't start plowing until now so it took me an hour and half to get home when it usually takes me about 20 minutes, the temperature is dropping which means everything will be ice tomorrow and I don't have a winter coat yet leaving me with layering cardigan on top of cardigan with a thick fur vest and this leather jacket....so the cozy fall look here is no longer an option. Winter has officially arrived and as usual I am not prepared.
On another note, after contemplating whether to snag the wedges from Steve Madden or spluring on a pair from Ash I dipped into some random shoe store in the mall and staring right at me were these babies for only $25. After going through each size 9 and finding the one without the glue remnants and quirky components I walked out with this pair and feeling completely satisfied. I've been wearing them constantly and even tried them out on Saturday at work but we won't do that again. Despite being a wedge, the ease of climbing ladders and scaling stockroom walls was removed while wearing them and by the time lunch rolled around I had to change shoes. Nonetheless I love 'em and I'm happy to have saved some money with this option.
Anywho I hope your week is going well so far and hopefully you're more prepared for winter than I am. On Saturday my mom and I are headed out for a bit of shopping so I will definitely add a pair of gloves and a winter coat onto the list along with a new scarf and hat. Macy's is having their One Day Sale this weekend but extended it a bit (Today through next Tuesday) thanks to Hurricane Sandy so as soon as I get tomorrow morning I will take some time and better scan through the department. Despite working in the store its amazing how little you are aware of other departments. I normally find out about sales after the fact by other employees and by that time its too late....

Is It February Yet - What I Wore
My Fall wardrobe essentials of late...
- Long & Chunky Scarf
- Leather
- Leopard
- Leggings
- Motorcycle Boot
Despite popping Airborne on a regular basis and drowning my organs with water, the minute I forget that everyone at work is throwing around their germs like a game of catch and leave my meds at my parents I wake up stuffy and foggy. Now I'm trying to nurse myself back since I cannot afford to show to work on any level less than completely prepared. Its crunch time now as we put the final touches on the holiday set ups, organizing stock rooms for quick and easy fill ins for sales associates and making note of what we are still missing. Stepping in for my manager has already proven to be quite challenging from dealing with a dwindling staff (if you don't want to work please don't waste my time....seriously there are people who actually need jobs and want them), to brand reps (I'm sorry you are paid to believe that your brand is the best and I don't doubt that the revamp will be successful but right now in my store it's just not the focus and the numbers reflect it so no you can't get the number one location during the holiday season.....) to still trying to actually accomplish something by the day's end. Although now February can't arrive fast enough I know this is the kind of experience I need to not only move forward but to be able to successfully run my own store one day which is the ultimate goal so I guess I shouldn't complain too much....LOL
On a much happier note I finally wore my leather vest. This leather vest was one of the first purchases I made over 4 years ago when I started my job and it was one of those amazing deals you just have to celebrate. It was originally $200 or a bit more and I grabbed it for $50. Its real leather, has a moveable trim thanks to the wire built in so you can mold it into a peplum if you'd like and it has a removable hood. I did wear it once or twice that first year but haven't put it on since...until recently. I wore it out to my first appointment in the search for my wedding dress and the funny thing is my friend ended up wearing it more than I did. She didn't want to take it off and it seems to be a reoccuring trend with her and my mom trying to steal some of things....I am on constant watch as they are both pretty crafty.
In all the wedding excitement and constant inspiration hunting that also seems to consume so much of time, I have decided to start a new blog (YAYYY!!!!)
Its called The Awkward Bride (check it out HERE) and it is basically my wedding diary to rant and gush on my different experiences. I would love it if you guys checked it out but don't worry I won't forget about Naughty Baubles.

Jenny Claire Temperley - What I Wore

Although I am pretty sure the sunny days are not gone, the days of bare legs are definitely behind us. I am yelling at my car in the morning to just warm up already so I can put on the heat on and being the stubborn individual that I am I've refused to wear a jacket which means briskly walking to my car screaming obscenities in my head. Normally I find myself in a slight fashion depression at the first sign of fall but this time around I can honestly say there is a bit of excitement. However I will challenge myself to make sure I don't neglect these shorts. Yeah, they're pretty simple but they are perfect for just about any top imaginable from floral blouse to a chunky knit. I snagged them from work for only $19 before my weekend getaway and have opted to wear them during every single warm sunny day since.
Anywho, hope your week started out well and your weekend was fantastic. See ya next post...
P.S. I don't know what's come over me but I've been Pinning up a storm which has kinda taken away precious blogging time (well really just time in general)...If you want to know what's catching my eye check me out there
P.S.S. If you are wondering about the title it's just my extreme excitement to try on some wedding dresses this weekend. Made an appointment at a local bridal salon that just happens to carry Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone and Temperley wedding dresses....literally my top 3 designers right now for unique, lust worthy frocks.

The Weekenders - What I Wore
Quick escape out of town this weekend to celebrate the beginning of fall. Luckily I stopped by H&M and snagged some sweaters because despite the clear skies and bright sun, the breeze off the water was definitely brisk. I'm really interested in cozy dressing right now so printed leggings and oversized sweaters have been in heavy rotation. I beg you not to call me lazy but with the pumpkin spice lattes now available and all the September mags stacking up, my body just wants curl up and get lost in glossy pages.
Anywho, everytime we go to Newport I always discover something new Ans this time it was an incredible spice, sugar and tea store. Not only did it fit perfectly with my hibernation state of mind but it happened to be exactly what I was in search of for the wedding. And on that note I am officially going for a vineyard wedding. The venue idea has been quite a debate and after tossing up a few ideas me and the Guy have finally settled. Now I just have to find one that's not already booked....LOL
Hope your Monday is going well and here's to the weekend!!!!

Autumn Splatter - What I Wore
I'm pretty sure this is the last outfit snapshots from my vacation but either way as I was editing some photos of new products to be listed I came across these and decided to share. I absolutely love the splatter print and the ease of the dress. My favorite piece right now is this oversized sheer white button down and I'm pretty sure it was this dress that partially started the obsession. I snagged this bad boy right before we left at my job for only $20 and that was before my discount making it a great find. I plan on wearing it all the way through Fall by adding a layer or two for the cooler temps and some tights.

Ricky Rose` - What I Wore

| Shirt/Jeans/Shoes - H&M |
Lets just jump to the short version of this outfit post. Yes I am in H&M way to much and as usual I always find something that I just "have" to take home...something that I NEED. This time around it all started with the shoes and the outfit grew from their.
On another note, I hope everyone had a great long weekend for Labor Day. With my mom's upcoming month long trip to Hawaii (so jealous), I spent it with her shopping. The biggest purchase was the suitcase. Despite handling luggage on a daily basis I don't think I ever paid attention to the cost. The last time I bought a suitcase was back in 2003 at Filene's Basement in Boston. Everything their was a bargain and a hassle to purchase which soured the whole experience. With the thought of the wedding registry and the my mom's urgent need a good set, I finally read the tags to compare and I'm pretty sure I choked....
Or was that my dad when I told him how much we would need???
Thankfully (more for him than me) I regrouped and we headed to T J Maxx where we not only found a great set that was the exact one in another store but a whopping $400 cheaper. Bragging about our amazing find, I kept getting the snide remarks about buying from such a store but I have to tell you...I never had a problem with anything that I bought from any TJX store. It amazes me what rationale people will use to keep from saving money. Price doesn't always equal quality it's just what good marketing has taught us. And no, I could not leave the store without sneaking something into my mom's carriage. I've been flexing my tweeting muscles lately so if you're a follower you saw my changing room options and after a handful of pretty finds I ended up with the white button down that unbuttons up the back and is slightly sheer. Absolute perfection and between my friends and family everyone keeps trying to steal it. Don't worry though it'll make its debut in a outfit post soon.
Other than that I got a chance to spend some time with friends, barely catch up on Doctor Who, and I got back to beading. Inspired by the need for a few arm party additions and Isabel Marant, I made some new favorites. Look for those hit the store by this weekend and if you want a sneak peak I snapped them with Instagram here. Thankfully its already hump day and I'm looking forward to another great weekend!!
See ya next post!!

Like A Doll - What I Wore
![]() |
| Skater Dress - H&M (similar dress HERE), Belt - Vintage, Earrings - Naughty Baubles (buy HERE), Shoes - H&M, Bracelet - Vintage |
Having bought this dress a few weeks before we left for Newport and never once taking it out of the bag, I figured vacation would be an excellent chance to either wear it or return it. I had been searching high and low for a skater dress after seeing Karen of Where Did U Get That rock a leopard version (see it HERE) and after a few unsuccessful fitting room adventures I found one with a perfect fit and length. The only problem was the color....I wasn't quite sold. However after pairing it with a vintage belt given to me by Great Aunt, my new favorite stud earrings that I made and prancing around all day I have to say I'm glad I caved in and bought it.
