****Color Me Inspired****

Thank you Lucky Mag for giving me a whole new site to obsess over......

Like so many of you, I live to flip through the pages of fashion magazines. Every month I stalk the likes of Target, CVS, Walmart (who always offers a 33% discount on all mags), Stop & Shop (the only retail location of sorts open at 6:30am on my route to work that doesn't just carry porn and the paper) and any local convenience store looking to see whose face will grace the cover. Not that it makes a difference but if Vogue is featuring Reese Witherspoon and InStyle has Kate Hudson, InStyle will definitely be bought first...its my makeshift prioritizing to ensure I don't walk out a store at any given moment $100 poorer.   I covet, hoard and drool over the glossy pages for days reading and then re reading the concise snippets on how to pair this season's trends with last years or why its so important to moisturize.  I tear out pages for inspiration and mark item after item with little notes like "DIY Inspiration" or "Must Have" so that my future self will remember why I exactly I held onto a four year old magazine.  But speaking of marking, one of my favorite mags is Lucky.  Its like a shoppers monthly manual in the form of a magazine.  Always easier on the purse in terms of weight but still chock full of goodies, I find that myself inspired every time I open it.  Oh, and back to the marking, every month the magazine has a wonderful tear out sheet full of stickers for easier labeling of those can't forget pages.

But how exactly did they inspire me recently.  Known for introducing readers to unknown shopping destinations and brands, more recently they have really increased the amount of need-to-know websites including a lot of fresh and interesting blogs.  Although I already have a composition book full of sites to visit, in their most recent feature I truly felt compelled to take a look.  Lauren Willhite's blog, color-collective.blogspot.com,  is everything inspiration.  Using paintings, editorial shots and look book images, Willhite breaks down some of the best images into the mere basics that make it......the colors.  Taking five of the best colors, she creates color palletes for inspiring minds and I just happen to adore the concept.  Moving forward and apparently under the spell of the power of color, Lucky Mag in return took her color palletes and used them to create gorgeous outfits for us to try.  The concept is genius.  I mean, how many times can we pair an all white ensemble with a pop of color before we put the world to sleep?  Thanks to Color Collective, mixing colors has never been easier.

But still you are probably wondering why this has inspired me?  Rather what has this inspired me to do?  Quite simply it made my already fun treasury-creating past time even better. I mean, I'm always on Etsy looking at all the amazing finds and I do enjoy creating treasuries but find it a rather tortuous task as sticking with a theme can be difficult.  Searching for say...coral and blue colored items only leads me to find a lavender colored vintage dress that immediately makes me want to change my treasury theme to a lavender and cream one.  However, with a bit of focus thanks to Color Collective, I find it much easier to finish a theme beginning to end.

So without further ado I am proud to present my first Color Me Inspired treasury.
